R. Gene Richter Scholarship

For 13 years the R. Gene Richter Scholarship program has provided both monetary and mentorship to students. Through partnership with ISM this program has awarded 106 students scholarships. In addition to financial assistance with school, the program partners students with an executive mentor and a junior mentor. These connections have proven priceless for the students as they have led to employment and other opportunities.
These students are the cream of the crop. They have shown academic excellence, many are dual majors, some are bilingual, and all of them have chosen to pursue a career in supply management. Take a minute to read about last year’s award recipients. View Here

“Gene Richter was one of the greatest Procurement leaders of our time.  He was my mentor and friend and had a huge impact on whatever success I have enjoyed in this profession.  It was an honor for me to join Nancy Richter in founding the Richter Scholarship program in Gene’s memory.  I consider this one of the most meaningful things I have done in my professional life.”

“I am a Richter Scholarship Sponsor because I appreciate how important emerging student talent is to the future of Supply Management.  Simply put, the Richter Scholarship not only helps students financially but more importantly it facilitates learning from their peers and from leaders within our profession.  This early learning enables scholars to grow and be that much stronger as they enter the field, which in turn elevates the professionalism and value of Supply Management.”
